Oh no... II

Radar view of the thunder that will hit us very son.

Manatee. A picture of a picture at the pier. They are very protective towards these funny creatures.

It was very windy when we got to the pre-booked marina in Beaufort yesterday, but all went well with the docking - again!

We had to re-fuel but the tank seemed bottomless. That made us go into the first depression. The other came when we discovered more water than usual in the bilge. It's the propeller shaft seal that's leaking ... We booked a repair at a yard on our way to Charleston. In the worst case, the boat has to be lifted and then we have to go to a hotel.

That's why we were very happy when the neighbors invited us to a drink, that was exactly what we needed right then. And not just one! Everyone is very kind, generous and curious about us when they hear how strange we are talking. We think they speak strange; when we went in the tourist train in Savannah we hardly understood a word of what the guide said :)

Today we are staying in the marina one more night because it will nasty weather. There was no excuse, we had to clean the boat while we had a lot of water and electricity. But we took a break and went up to the small town and took lots of pictures of typical houses from the "deep south". Such with with long pillars and porches around the house, two rocking chairs and ceiling fan outdoors. Also on oak-trees with Spanish moss on (though it's not Spanish and it's not Moss..). When we came back to Ambika I discovered that the memory card was not in! The 3rd depression was a fact!
