Mot Trondheim
Now there are sheep on the roads, instead of reindeer. Lots of them. We pass beautiful scenery but the mountains had flattened and now we ventured through long stretches of fields and farmland..
I want Sweden to also focus on clean toilets (I have probably told you about it earlier). In Norway there were fresh toilets with toilet paper along the roads, at regular intervals. Sometimes they are so cute with a nice grass roof.
Trondheim is a superb city, we discovered, with an historic old wooden part of the city and lots of restaurants along the river. It is the third most populous city of which about 30,000 are students. Trondheim is a leader in his research in medicine and technology. Trondheim has also been the capital of Noges a long time ago, until the beginning of the 13th century.
We stayed a bit luxurious, thought we were worth a break. Rooms were booked on new, trendy Clarion which had a lovely rooftop bar, fresh rooms with a super trendy designed bathroom. Certainly you could shower there but then the whole bathroom was floating in water and a bathroom mat was not available and they forgot to mention that parking was not included in the price, which was another 240 NOK!! The fridge in the room had broken down, it was about 27 degrees in the shade (and in the room when we arrived). The supernice breakfast made up for some of our dissappointment :)
